In continuous existence since its founding in the early 1950′s the Akron Sports Car Club has served its members well in a variety of automotive pursuits. Originally serving the needs of “real” sports car enthusiasts through a variety of related pursuits such as Gymkhanas and TSD (Time, Speed, Distance) Rallyes the organization has evolved into two highly focused groups.
The Akron Sports Car Club (ASCC) is one of the oldest and most successful independent automotive clubs in the country. We believe that it would serve both its current and past members if we took advantage of the Internet and this website to research and bring to the forefront the history that is the ASCC. We currently are talking to various past and present members and tracking down as much information and memorabilia as possible. Any help tracing people down in general would help.
This club has a long and colorful history as we are finding out. It’s about time someone took all this history and sorted it out and posted it for all to see.
